Denis-McRight crowned Miss Hawaii Collegiate America

The Big Island’s Tatia Denis-McRight captured the title of Miss Hawaii Collegiate America last weekend on Oahu.

Denis-McRight, who resides in Honaunau, will represent Hawaii for the national title of Miss Collegiate America 2023 next summer in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Denis-McRight, a 2021 Konawaena High School graduate, skilled soccer player and Tahitian dancer, is a sophomore at UH-Hilo where she is pursuing a degree in administration in education. She hopes to one day be an elementary school principal.

In the meantime, she is using her talents to pursue modeling and pageantry. Denis-McRight is currently signed with New York MMG and has been featured in several local fashion designers advertisements and commercials such Simply Sisters, Kahulale’a, Lexbreezy. In addition, Denis-McRight recently walked the runway 7 with Ola Hou Designs and was recently selected to model in the inaugural Hawaii Swim Show slated in September in Hilo

The winner of Miss Collegiate America is awarded a new JL Jeep Wrangler Sport and $100,000 in scholarships and other prizes. The crown was most recently held by a Big Island resident in 2020 when Laupahoehoe resident Ronelle Valera was named Miss Collegiate America.
