Follow these basic rules

Call it what it is. Almost 100% of what is called accidental discharges are negligent discharges. If the four basic rules of firearm safety are followed these incidences will not happen. First, never let the muzzle of a gun cover anything you’re not willing to destroy. Second, treat all guns as if they are loaded. Third, keep your finger off of the trigger and out of the trigger guard until aimed at your target. Fourth, know your target and what is beyond. An extra rule I follow is when shooting at a gun range if you need to set your gun down it must be completely unloaded first. No unattended guns should be loaded.

No excuse not to follow these basic rules.

Right?

If anyone in the Hawaii has a search warrant executed on there home or property and evidence is removed , all one has to do to delay the trial indefinitely is ask for a special master. Right? It worked for The Donald and everyone knows in the USA it’s equal justice for all — if you can afford it. And, it helps greatly if you have appointed the judge who is deciding on the matter.

A disappointing recommendation

Kathleen Parker ended her column Monday with a disappointing recommendation. Her reasoning aside, she said that it would be unwise to indict former President Donald Trump for purloining classified documents.

It is surely a blot on the current DOJ that the former president has not yet been indicted for the incident of the classified documents as well as for the Jan. 6 insurrection. Not only does this failure to indict seem to be a fearful reaction to threats of violence by Lindsey Graham, it is also glaring evidence for unequal administration of justice in this country. In contrast to Trump, an ordinary citizen would have been indicted a long time ago for offenses of the magnitude that we have seen from the former president.

Protection needed

Having lived on an East Coast barrier island for 30 years, I know environmental issues, VRBOs and developers. Wilson Pepper’s letter was brilliant and sadly true. This beautiful island needs protection as do the natives.
