Christopher Allen

Christopher Mark Allen, 30, of Captain Cook, died Sept. 20, 2022 in Kealakekua. Born on Dec. 25, 1991, in Santa Clara, California, he worked as a software programmer.

A memorial ervice will be held on Sept. 30 at 10 a.m. at Pu’uhonoa O’ Honaunau in the back by the picnic tables. There will be a potluck to follow. Please bring your own chairs.

He is survived by mother, Valerie Allen of Captain Cook; and Mark (Rachel Kanowsky) Allen of Meadow Vista, California.

Doris Dolaptchieff

Doris Anne Dolaptchieff, 90, of Pahoa died Aug. 23, 2022, at Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center. Born in East Liverpool, Ohio, she was a homemaker.

Private services held.

She is survived by sons, Dan (Janet) Dolaptchieff of Keaau and Nick Dolaptchieff of Newhall, Calif.; daughter, Susan (Jim) Gerakaris of Paso Robles, Calif.; sister, Dorothy Hewitt of California; and grandson, Paul Dolaptchieff of Keaau.

Jacqueline Hill

Jacqueline Mae Hill, 86, of Kailua-Kona, died Aug. 19, 2022 at Nakamaru Hale. Born May 24, 1936, in Honolulu, she was a telephone operator for the former Royal Waikoloan Hotel and a member of Kaahumanu Society.

Services will be held at a later date.

She is survived by husband, Ray Hill of Kailua-Kona; daughter, Tiare Kolowena of Kailua-Kona; brother, Cliff Chillingworth and sister, Ilona Kini, both of Molokai; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Jean Hayashi

Jean Hisako Hayashi, 90, of Kealakekua, died Sept. 2, 2022 at Fiesta Care Home in Pahoa. Born Sept. 12, 1931, in Hilo, she was owner and general manager of K. Hayashi Store and a member of the Kamuela Hongwanji Mission, Kamuela Hongwanji Buddhist Women’s Association, Waimea Senior Citizens Club and Halau Hula Ka No’eau.

Services were held.

She is survived by sister, Norma (Rendell Hirano) Matsumoto of Kealakekua; sister-in-law, Hannah Hayashi of Salt Lake, Oahu; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; several grandnieces and grandnephews; and caregivers, Loriella, Patrick and Alexandra Paige Fiesta.

Isabella Poch

Isabella Datauo Poch, 54, of Keaau, died Aug. 5, 2022, at her residence. She was born in Chuuk, Federated States of Micronesia and was a cashier at various retail stores.

She is survived by husband, Iosinto Edwin of Kea’au; sons, Eddie (Faith) Yeichy of Keaau and Ed Yeichy of New York; daughters, Suzanna (Saing Teruo) Yeichy of Hilo, Priscilla (Kacher Hartman) Poch of Washington State, Suebella Yeichy and Veronica Yeichy of Kea’au; brothers, Sinaiter (Wiresita) Poch of Kea’au, Lastly (Ansina) Poch of Hilo, Meichy Poch, Stasi (Mesipa) Poch, Itasi Poch, Ychiem Poch, Saropa (Neipito) Poch, Sista (Jenny Hartman) Poch and Skare (Santiar Kutta) Poch, all of Chuuk, Micronesia; sisters, Maasa Poch (Michiosy) Kansou of Spokane, Wash., Meripa Poch (Mmnche) Kachem of Hilo and Roxanna Poch (Kapier) Kaminanga of Oahu; eight grandchildren; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Chiyono Fuse

Chiyono “Jean” Fuse, 95, of Hilo died Aug. 16, 2022, at Hawaii Care Choice Pohai Malama Hospice Facility. Born in Pepeekeo, she was a homemaker and member of the Taishoji Soto Mission.

She is survived by daughters, Colleen Yoshida of Hilo, Joni (Kevin) Katayama of Kaneohe; sisters-in-law, Kimie Watanabe of Hilo, Misae (Paul) Hironaka of Kailua, Oahu, Toshie Miyasaki of Hilo, Betty Fuse of Honolulu; three grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mirah Midley Likiaksa

Mirah Likiaksa, 43, of Hilo, died Sept. 20, 2022 at Hilo Medical Center. Born March 16, 1979, in Kosrae, Federated States of Micronesia, she was a homemaker and a member of the First United Protestant Church and Kosraean Hilo Congregational Church in Hawaii.

Friends may call on Oct. 1 at the First United Protestant Church in Hilo, visitation and services from 10 a.m. to noon. Flowers and lei are welcomed. Burial at Alae Cemetery (New Section).

She is survived by husband, Tulensa Likiaksa of Hilo; children, Sarahlin Likiaksa, Tiarah Likiaksa, Mitchigo Clara, TJ Likiaksa and Tson Likiaksa of Hilo; father, Midley Shrew of Hilo; brothers and sisters, Henricklson (Liliy) Jonas and Kun (Julie) Sigrah of Kosrae, Micronesia, Paul M. (Shanea P.) Shrew of Alaska, Fanston (Joyce) Marcus of Hawaii, Anrube (Sepe) Asher of Hilo and DeeJay (Josie) Shrew of Texas; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nehpews.
