Harold Tasaki

Harold Saburo Tasaki, 86, of Hilo, died March 15, 2020. Born Oct. 14, 1933, he was a businessman and manager of Foodland and supported several charities throughout his life.

Private services.

He is survived by sisters, Janice Umeda and Melvina Nomura; children, Guy (Karrie) Tasaki, Lee (Eveleen) Tasaki, and Michelle (Robert) Watson; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Mary Scott

Mary Hugh Scott, 89, of Puako, died Sept.7, 2022 in Puako. Born Feb. 28, 1933, in Houston, Texas, she was a member of and contributed to many organizations, including PBS Hawaii, North Hawaii Community Hospital and St. James Church.

Private services held with burial at Kona Memorial Park.

She is survived by sons, Russell Scott III of Denver, and Joseph Scott of Aspen, Colorado; brother, Isaac Arnold Jr. of Houston, Texas; and eight grandchildren.

Lorin Hanato

Lorin Aiko Hanato, 56, of Honalo, died June 21, 2022 at Kona Community Hospital. Born March 8, 1966, in Kealakekua, she was a cosmetologist.

Private services were held.

She is survived by sons, Sky Valenzuela and Shadow Valenzuela, both of California, and Sage Valenzuela of Texas; mother, Tamayo Hanato; brother, Banyan Hanato; sister, Wynn Hanato, all of Honalo; two grandchildren; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mae Takamoto

Mae Shizuka Takamoto, 79, of Keaau, died Sept. 18, 2022, at her residence. Born in Hilo, she was a homemaker and member of Tenrikyo Kilauea Church.

Private services were held. Family requests no monetary gifts or flowers.

She is survived by son, Kyle Takamoto of Honolulu; brothers, James (Sandra) Hamano of Hilo, and Miles Hamano of Honolulu; sister, Emma Sousa of Hilo; and numerous nieces and nephews.
