Harumi Koga

Harumi Watanabe Koga, 91, of Pepeekeo, and formerly of Ookala, died Aug. 16, 2022, at her residence. Born in Papaikou, she was a retired custodian at Laupahoehoe Elementary and High School and a member of the Pepeekeo Senior Citizens and the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP).

Visitation 10-11 a.m. Oct. 29 at the Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Memorial services at 11 a.m. Casual attire.

She is survived by son, Curtis Koga of Pepeekeo; daughter, Edna (Angel, Jr.) Macanas of Pepeekeo; brother, Masaru (Nancy) Watanabe of Hilo; sisters, Etsuko Horio and Eunice (Samson) Hamamoto of Hilo; two grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Frederick Cobb-Adams

Frederick Emilius Cobb-Adams, 86, of Ocean View, and formerly of Kaneohe died Sept. 18, 2022 at the Kona Community Hospital. Born in Honolulu, he was a groundskeeper for the City and County of Honolulu.

Celebration of life visitation 11:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Nov. 3 at Ulumau Village, Oahu. Memorial service at noon. Urn committal service 11 a.m. Nov. 4 at the Valley of the Temples Memorial Park in Kaneohe.

He is survived by sons, Frederick Cobb-Adams of Ocean View, and Clayton (Jannine) Cobb-Adams of Kailua-Kona; daughters, Barbara (Richard) Green of Ocean View, Rebecca Lasconia of Kailua-Kona, Donna Kaaihue of Captain Cook and Doreen Verece of Waipahu; brother, Charles Cobb-Adams of Oahu; sisters, Kathleen Burgo of Halawa Heights and JoAnn Eddy of Captain Cook; 12 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Roxanne Gastilo Lumanlan

Roxanne Pi’ilani Gastilo Lumanlan, 50, of Waikoloa, died Oct. 18, 2022, at her residence. Born in Hilo in 1971, she was a hula dancer under Johnny Lum-Ho at Halau O Ka Ua Kani Lehua in Hilo and Polynesian Cultural Center in Laie, marketing manager at Hilton Grand Vacations Club and and belonged to Abundant Life Ministries in Waikoloa.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

She is survived by husband, Beau Lumanlan; mother, Yvonne Winona Gastilo; brother, Jace (Maelialani Aiona) Gastilo; sister, Cheris (Kalae) Keala; son, Trevor Lumanlan; daughters, Savannah (Kaulana Gonzalez-Guzman) Lumanlan and Brooklyn Lumanlan; two grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Norman Gonsalves

Norman Albert Gonsalves, 87, of Honokaʻa, died Oct. 9, 2022 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Honolulu, he was a USMC Drill Sargent, Owned the first Big Island Security Company (Fact Finders Inc.), retired head of security for JC Penney’s, and was a former member of the Royal Order of Kamehameha.

Private services.

He is survived by sons, Scott (Martha) Gonsalves of California and Robin (Leticia) Gonsalves of Idaho; daughter, Venus (Alex) Gonsalves Henriques of Kukuihaele; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and cousins.

Daniel Mallchok Jr.

Daniel Mallchok Jr., 94, of Kawaihae, died Sept. 30, 2022 in Lincolnwood, Illinoi. Born Sept. 15, 1928, he was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and retired librarian for Hawaii Preparatory Academy.

Private services will be held at a later date.

He is survived by wife Judy Mallchok; son Mark (Bernadette) Mallchok; daughter Malia (Eugene) Mallchok; and granddaughter Guzelle.

Don Inaba

Don Riemon Inaba, 66, of Kaloko, died Sept. 27, 2022, at his residence. Born Oct. 14, 1955, in Hawaii, he was a cargo agent for Aloha Air Cargo.

Visitation will be held at 12 p.m. Nov. 5 at the Old Kona Airport, Maka’eo Pavilion in Kailua-Kona. A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. with a pa’ina to follow. The family requests casual attire.

He is survived by wife, Kawehi Inaba; daughter, Kilihea (Makana Hirota) Inaba, sons, Holeka Inaba and Makakoa Inaba, all of Kaloko; sisters, Georgene (Al Burkart) Inaba of Portland, Oregon, Ann Inaba of Holualoa; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

George Engle

George Engle, 70, of Waikoloa, died Oct. 17, 2022, at Queen’s North Hawaii Community Hospital. Born in Honolulu, he was retired from the National Park Service at Pu’ukohola Heiau National Historic Site.

He is survived by sons, Michael Engle, Anthony Engle and Brexson Kamano of Honolulu; siblings, Ruthie Dos Santos of Honolulu, Tom Ross of Waimea; seven grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
