The Kona Palisades Artists Group will be hosting its ninth annual “Open Studio Tour” for on Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 19 and 20, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

This year the creative group consists of 14 Big Island artists living in close proximity to each other in the Kona Palisades Estates and adjacent subdivision. It is a unique opportunity when artists open their studios to the public for touring and artists’ demonstrations of their work process with an opportunity to purchase their artwork created on the Big Island.

The Kona Palisades Artists Group members this year include: Stefanie Culbertson (watercolors, digital design), Amanda and Chris Freed (woodcraft and laser engraving), Cynthia Hankins (photography), Bill Jaeger (stained glass), Kathleen Jaeger (mosaic, acrylics and paper mache), Tamisha Lee (fused glass), Steven Leto (graphic art and mixed media), Heather Mettler (sandblasted glass vessels), Shannon Nakaya (origami design and sculpture), Maya Sorum (watercolors, jewelry) and Bill Twibell (gyotaku — fish printing). Guest artists this year are Zoe Blair (hand-dyed shibori art) and Courtney Meiselman (ceramics).

The two-day event is a self-guided driving Open Studio Tour to meet the artists at six locations with their art displayed in their studio or presentation space. Keep a look out for the signs posted.
