Robert Lundy

Robert Paul Lundy, 62, of Kailua-Kona, died Oct. 23, 2022 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Okinawa, Japan on May 23, 1960, he was an electrical engineer at the Ellison Onizuka International Airportl, a member of the American Legion, ALS Association, ALS Foundation of Hawaii and a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. Services will be held at a later date. He is survived by wife, Theresa Lundy of Kailua-Kona; daughter, Catherine Lundy of Buena Park, CA.; son, Nicholas (Zulima) Lundy of Norwalk, CA.; brother, Jimmy Jennings of Las Vegas. Gordon Leslie

Gordon Kanakanui Leslie, 75, of Napo’opo’o Village, died Nov. 2, 2022 at Hospice of Kona’s Nakamaru Hale. Born in Kealakekua on March 19, 1947, he was the owner of KPK Malama Aina Consulting Company, a Seaflight boat captain, a consultant with Oceanside 1250, a historian, boat operator and owner of Moana Ocean Adventures-Ka’awaloa and a U.S. Navy Vietnam veteran. Services will be held at a later date. He is survived by wife, Kila DeMello of Napo’opo’o; son, Kioni (Katie) Arend of Colorado Springs, CO.; hanai son, Nalu (Kainoa) Leslie of Kailua-Kona; stepson, Vernon DeMello of Ocean View; daughters, Tania (Dustin) Leslie of Makapala, Tasha (Daniel) Shanahan of Waikoloa; hanai daughter, Asia (Kalani) Alu-Leslie of Napo’opo’o; sister, Joanna Gaspar of Captain Cook; sister-in-law, Betty Leslie of Napo’opo’o; brothers, Sonny Leslie of Captain Cook, Chuck Leslie of Napo’opo’o, Butchie (Nancy) Leslie of Pearl City, Oahu; brother-in-law, Frank Debina of Napo’opo’o; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Delma Case

Delma Marie Case, 80, of Waimea, died Oct. 31, 2022, at North Hawaii Community Hospital. Born in Honokaʻa, she was a homemaker, caregiver and babysitter, member of the Mauna Kea Quilters Guild and Honorary member of Mauna Kea Education and Awareness. No services scheduled at this time.She is survived by husband, William Newton Case; daughters Bonnie Pualani Case (E. Kalani Flores), Bernadine Marie Likolehua Case (Michael Manu), Brenda Lee Kaulana Resendiz Reynoso (Saul), son William Newton Case II (Susan) all of Waimea; sisters Valerie Begas (Roy Boro), Tammy Begas; sister-in-law Maureen Begas (Timothy); granddaughters, Hāwane Rios, Kapulei Flores, Mariah-Rae Case, Shiadani Marie Resendiz Reynoso, grandson, Heimana Manu, great-grandchildren, Myla-Rose DeAguiar, Ocean Murtagh; hanai daughter; Alice Fujii and many family members, and friends.

Lucille Kain

Lucille Liborio Kain, 91, of Papaikou died Oct. 18, 2022, at her residence. Born in Pepeekeo, she was a private adult caregiver, homemaker and a member of the Ladies Aid Society of Central Christian Church. Visitation from 9-10 a.m. Nov. 16 at Haili Congregational Church; memorial service will begin at 10. Burial to follow at the East Hawaii Veterans Cemetery #2. Casual attire. She is survived by sons, Gordon (Faye) Liborio of Hilo, Norman Liborio of Papaikou; daughter, Peggy (Andrew Nisbet) Liborio of Hawaiian Paradise Park; hanai children, Debbie Hose-Holman of Pennsylvania, Florence (Jim) Puaa of Hilo, Violet Puaa of Hilo; five grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter, numerous nieces and nephews. Matsuyo Tanoue

Matsuyo Tanoue, 94, of Laupahoehoe and Arvada, Colorado died Mar. 30, 2022 at her son’s home in Colorado. Born in Ahualoa, Honokaa, she was a retired consumer loan clerk for First Hawaiian Bank. Private services held. She is survived by son, Ralph Tanoue of Arvada, Colorado; two granddaughters; sisters, Kiyoko Katagihara of Oahu, Yaeko Tanaka of Torrance, California; sisters-in-law, Takako Hirata of Torrance, California, Yoshiko Hirata of Honolulu, Lois Hirata of Oahu; numerous nieces and nephews. Judith Kinoshita

Judith “Judy” Sanae Kinoshita, 79, of Hilo, died Oct. 16, 2022, in Hilo. Born Sept. 15, 1943, in Pepeekeo, she was retired from the University of Hawaii at Hilo and a member of Honomu Henjoji Mission, Koboji Shingon Mission and Honolulu Church of Light. Private services were held. No monetary gifts or flowers. She is survived by husband, Alan Kinoshita of Hilo; daughters, Kim (Walter) Wasierski of Goodyear, Ariz., Cindy (Eric) Kuwana of Hilo; stepchildren, Rory Kinoshita of Antelope, Calif., Sean (Lilia) Kinoshita of Las Vegas; brothers, George (Diane) Sakoda and Charles Sakoda of Hilo, Kenneth Sakoda of Honolulu; sister, Nora (Daniel) Hirakawa of Honolulu; numerous uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces and cousins.
