Daisy Losalio

Daisy Keaopanopano Losalio, 81 of Kealia, died July 27, 2022, at her residence. Born in Hookena on Nov. 25, 1940, she was a housekeeper at the former Kona Surf Hotel and member of Hookena and Honaunau Kumiai and Pukaana Congregational Church. Visitation will be held at 8 a.m. Nov. 26 at Puakaana Congregational Church; service will begin at 10 a.m. She is survived by her sons, Phillip (Sharon) Losalio, Jr. of Kapolei, Oahu and John Losalio of Naalehu; hanai sons, Kelly Losalio of Kealia, George Cipriano of Kailua-Kona, Matthew (Pearl) Cipriano of California; daughters, Gerrianne Jiampetti of Kealia, Rayanne (Bill) Volkoff of Keauhou, and Joeanne (Walter) Losalio-Watson of Ocean View; hanai daughters, Cheyenne Losalio of Hilo, Leilani Kiwaha of Kealia, Marilee (Howard) Alapai of Kailua-Kona, Imogene Cipriano of Kealakekua, Marilyn Mitchell of Waimea; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Fumiko Suzuki

Fumiko (Nakamura) Suzuki, 100, of Hilo, died Oct. 21, 2022, at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born in Ola’a, she was retired from both the former Woolworth’s and Hilo Candy Co. and member of Hilo Higashi Hongwanji Mission. Private services were held. Family requests no monetary gifts. She is survived by son, Wayne Suzuki of Waipahu, Oahu; daughter, Elaine Murakami of Hilo; brother, Uro Nakamura of Los Angeles; three grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews. Roy Uchida

Roy Toshio Uchida, 77, of Hilo, died June 24, 2022, in Las Vegas. Born in Hilo, he was a retired real estate mapping and records supervisor with the planning department of the County of Hawaii, U.S. Army veteran and member of the Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin. Visitation 10-11 a.m. Nov. 26 at the Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Memorial service at 11 a.m. Urn committal service noon Nov. 28 at the Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2 Pavilion. Casual attire; no flowers and no koden (monetary donations). George Pea

George Leon Iolani Pea, 82, of Hilo, died Nov. 4, 2022, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, he was a retired massage therapist, member of the Keaukaha Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and a U.S. Marine Corps Vietnam War veteran. Visitation 8-10 a.m. Nov. 25 at the Hilo Stake Center of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Funeral services at 10:30 a.m. Committal services will follow at the Hawaii Veterans Cemetery #2 pavilion. Casual attire. Christopher Marasciullo

Christopher Marasciullo, 69, of Kailua-Kona, died Sept. 23, 2022. Born in New York on Aug. 27, 1953, he retired from timeshare sales in Kona and was a photographer, artist, life guard, bartender, medic, racquetball player and kayaker. Celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. Nov. 27 at Anaeho’omalu Bay. Joannavi Medeiros

Joannavi Mililani Medeiros, 67, of Kailua-Kona, died Nov. 8, 2022 at her family’s residence. Born in Kealakekua on Feb. 8, 1955, she was a waitress at the former Ocean View restaurant, newspaper sorter at West Hawaii Today and a member of Aloha International Dream Center. No services are planned. She is survived by daughter, Jessica (Dennis) Corpus of Kailua-Kona; step-son, Terry (Hala) Medeiros of Kealia; step-daughters, Sonia (David) Cahill of Kalaoa, Patricia (Brian) Coad of Waikoloa, Myrna Thomas of Keauhou Mauka and Debra (Glenn) Miles of Kailua-Kona; brother, Jesse (Lori) Kunewa of Honaunau; sisters, Mele Kekai of Kailua-Kona, Aileen Amoy of Honolulu and Lillian Matsumoto of Kailua-Kona; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Douglas Cataraha, 80, of Kailua-Kona, died Nov. 9, 2022 at his residence. Born May 16, 1942 in Hawaii, he was a retired heavy equipment operator and welder for EM Rivera Construction Co. James Napeahi Sr.

James Kevin Napeahi Sr., 65, of Keei, died Oct. 30, 2022. Born Feb. 11, 1957, on Oahu, he was a U.S. Army veteran, construction worker, handyman, mechanic and farmer. Visitation will be held at 8:30 a.m. Dec. 2 at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Kealakekua Ward; funeral service will begin at 9:30 a.m. with burial at noon at West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery in Kailua-Kona. Shirley Kanehailua

Shirley Ann Kanehailua, 78, of Hilo died Nov. 2, 2022. Born in Hilo, she was a retired district manager of Freeman Guards, Inc. and a charter member of the Hawaiian Civic Club of Laupahoehoe. A celebration of her life will take place at later date. She is survived by children, Kimi Kanehailua Kaeo, Mitchell Kanehailua Jr., Marshall Kanehailua, Karen Kanehailua Teshima, Marlene Kanehailua; daughter-in-law, Esther Kanehailua; son-in-law, Lon Teshima; sister, Diana (George) Aukai; brothers, Rodney (Margaret) Acia, Johnny Boy (Rhoda) Medeiros, Alika Medeiros; 12 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
