Carol Nakatsu

Carol Ann Nakatsu, 77, of Hilo, died Nov. 7, 2022, in Hilo. Born in Hilo, she retired from HELCO. Friends may call at 9 a.m. Jan. 7 at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo for a 10:30 a.m. celebration of life. The family requests casual attire be worn. She is survived by husband, Milton Nakatsu of Hilo; daughters, Kori Ann (Robert) Medeiros of Hilo, Kristi (Bill) Raniada of Las Vegas; brother, Ernest Egusa of Hilo; sisters-in-law, Merle Egusa and Janice Egusa of Hilo, Nancy Nakatsu of Honolulu; three grandsons, Korin Medeiros, Kodi Medeiros, Landon Raniada; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins. Arrangements by Dodo Mortuary.

Josephine Mitchel

Josephine Gordon Mitchel, 98, of Hilo died Nov. 19, 2022, at her residence. Born in Honolulu, she was a long time member of the Hilo United Methodist Church, the Hilo Peanut Butter Ministry, VASH (Visitor Aloha Society of Hawaii Island), Senior Citizen Tennis, Hilo Halai Kumiai and a Home Health Registered Nurse. Visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. Jan. 7 at Hilo United Methodist Church. A memorial service will begin at 11. Casual attire. Family requests no flowers or koden (monetary gifts). She is survived by children, Robert (Aiko) Mitchel of Hilo, Carolyn (Theodore) Lesnett of Hilo, Patrice (Erik) Belcher of Volcano, Rebecca Mitchel of Hilo; 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren.
