Robert Lundy

Robert Paul Lundy, 62, of Kailua-Kona, died Oct. 23, 2022 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Okinawa, Japan on May 23, 1960, he was an electrical engineer at the Ellison Onizuka International Airport, member of the ALS Association, ALS Foundation of Hawaii and U.S. Marine Corps veteran. A memorial service will be held at noon on Jan. 12 at the West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery in Kailua-Kona. The family requests casual attire. He is survived by wife, Theresa Lundy of Kailua-Kona; daughter, Catherine Lundy of Buena Park, CA.; son, Nicholas (Zulima) Lundy of Norwalk, CA. Arrangements by Dodo Mortuary

Kikuyo Nakano

Kikuyo Nakano, 101, of Hilo, died Dec. 16, 2022, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Piihonua, she was retired from Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Corporation and a member of Tenrikyo Kilauea Church. Private services were held. Family requests no monetary gifts or flowers. She is survived by sons, Harvey (Jan Kealoha-Nakano) Nakano and Calvin Nakano of Hilo, Ted (Claire) Nakano of Honolulu; sister-in-law, Lillian Kawamoto of Kaneohe, Oahu; two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Ethel Avilla

Ethel Leilani Wong Avilla, 82, of Keaau, died Nov. 30, 2022, at home. Born in Honolulu, she was a retired front desk clerk with the Hilton Hawaiian Village on Oahu. Memorial visitation 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Jan. 1 at Borthwick Mortuary on Oahu. No flowers. She is survived by husband, James Avilla of Keaau; son, Derrick Scharsch of Honolulu; daughters, Rhonda (Freddie) Yadao of Menifee, Calif., Rochelle Mc Farlane of Honolulu and Laurie Henriques of Kaneohe; brothers, Stephen Wong, Carter (Francine) Wong and Terence Young of Honolulu, Von Scott (Monique) Wong of Waimea; sister, Sundra Ornellas of Kaneohe; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews.
