Thomas Kaneshiro

Thomas Shunji Kaneshiro, 85, of Keaau died Nov. 18, 2022 at a private care home in Hilo. Born in Olaa, he was retired from the advertising department at the Hawaii Tribune-Herald. Private services held. Family requests no flowers and no koden (monetary gifts). He is survived by brothers, Charles Kaneshiro of Chicago, James Kaneshiro of Los Angeles, Harold Kaneshiro of Honolulu. Arrangements by Dodo Mortuary.

Florence Ortiz

Florence “Pat” Patricia (Correa) Ortiz, 79, of Keaau, died Dec. 24, 2022 at Hilo Medical Center. Born March 17, 1943 in Honolulu, she was a homemaker and former waitress, co-founder of K &T Water Hauling and member of Reel Church Ministries and a member of the Faternal Order of Eagles. Visitation will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. Jan. 20 at Dodo Mortuary chapel, Hilo; celebration of life at 6 p.m. Casual attire and no flowers. She is survived by husband, Wilfred Ortiz Sr. of Keaau; daughters, Brenda Parks of Pahoa, Tammy Ortiz of Keaau and Stacy Ortiz of Keaau; sons, Wilfred Jr. (Deenise) Ortiz of Hilo, Micheal Ortiz of Honolulu, Oahu and Courtney (Tyson) Ortiz of Hilo; brothers, Gilbert Correa, Jr. of Keaau and Clyde Correa of Honolulu, Oahu; hanai brother, Richard Farias of Pahoa; sister-in-law, Beverly Correa of Honolulu, Oahu; brothers-in-law, Richard Ortiz of Makakilo, Oahu and Daniel (Dolores) Ortiz of Oklahoma; aunty, Kathleen Correa-Mitchler of California; 21 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
