Janet Kawamoto

Janet Toshiko Kawamoto, 90, of Honalo, died Nov. 30, 2022 at her residence. Born in Kainaliu on March 16, 1932, she was an office manager for several medical practices, a member of Kona Hongwanji Mission and Helani Congregational Church, Kawanui Kumiai, Kona Daifukuji Orchid Club, Ka Ulu Lauhala O Kona, and Kona Hiroshima Kenjin Kai. Services will be held on Jan. 28 at Helani Congregational Church; 9 a.m. visitation; 10 a.m. service. Burial at Kona Memorial Park, and lunch to follow at Kona Hongwanji Hall. She is survived by daughter, Lavieen (Elliott) Singer of Los Alamitos, CA; son, Lon (Kathleen) Kawamoto of Honalo; sister Doris Soma of Honolulu; brother, Robert (Anne) Sunada of Cerritos, CA; 3 grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Charise Gomera

Charise Cabang Gomera, 60, of Kailua-Kona, died on Jan. 4, 2023 at Kona Community Hospital. She was born on Lana’i on March 24, 1962. She is survived by mother, Marciana Delatorre Cabang Perkins and step-father, William Perkins, both of Kailua-Kona; brother, Benjamin (Bobbi Akana) Cabang, Jr., of Kohala; sisters, Patricia Paaluhi of Hilo and Mary Jane (Peter) Masi of Kailua-Kona; Aunty, Caroline Cordero of Hilo; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Karl Bauer

Karl Siegfried Bauer, 82, of Kailua-Kona, died Jan. 8, 2023 in Kailua-Kona. Born March 26, 1940, in Trenton, New Jersey, he was a U.S. Air Force veteran and worked as a telecommunications manager. He is survived by wife, Marsha; son, Ross (Christina) Bauer of Houston, Texas; daughter Elise Bauer of Montclair, New Jersey; sister Gretchen Schaeffer of Hamilton, New Jersey; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Katherine Neavitt

Katherine Louise Neavitt, 92, of Waikoloa, died Dec. 30, 2022 in Waikoloa. Born on Aug. 2, 1930, in San Diego, she worked as a secretary, homemaker, and tennis player. She is survived by sons James (Julie) Neavitt of Santa Clarita, California; Daniel (Anzhela) Neavitt of Marietta, California; Thomas (Becki) Neavitt of Tucson, Arizona; daughter Nancy Turner of Waikoloa, Hawaii; sixteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. Kevin R. Seiter, 72, of Kailua-Kona, died on Aug, 9, 2022 at his residence. Born in Los Angeles, he was a real estate, personal injury and environmental lawyer and surfer.
