Shirley Ann “Ama” (Greig) Shin, 80, of Keaau, died on Saturday, Jan. 14, 2023 at home. Born March 18, 1942 in Kohala, she was a retired waitress. Private services will be held at a later date. She is survived by daughter, Billiejean (David Maave) Greig; son, William Gordon (Tracy) Greig; brother, Archie Keliikuli; sister, Deelailah (Gavin Kaimana) Keliikuli-Kaimana; brother-in-law, Mike Schultz; sister-in-law, Sue Keliikuli; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. Jon Saragosa

Jon Graham Saragosa, 53, of Hilo, died Dec. 30, 2022 at home. Born Jan. 16, 1969 in Honolulu, he was a former clerk for Hilo Medical Center Imaging Department. Private services were held. He is survived by, sister, Marianne Saragosa of Hilo; hanai brother, Jeremy Higa of Boston, Massachusetts; aunts, uncles and cousins. Arrangements by Dodo Mortuary.

Carmelita Saffery

Carmelita “Dutchie” Kina’u Kapu Saffery, 83, of Mountain View died Feb. 3, 2023, at her residence. Born in Honolulu, she was a retired florist and former executive secretary to the Late Hiram Fong. Visitation from 10-11 a.m. Feb. 14 at Dodo Mortuary chapel; funeral service at 11. Cremation to follow. Casual attire. Additional services will take place on Oahu at a later date. She is survived by daughter, Kimberly (Hoturoa) Barclay-Kerr of Hamilton, New Zealand; brother, Samuel (Marsha) Kapu, Jr. of Kapahulu; brother-in-law, Ernest Chan of Hawaii Kai; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Susan Kidder

Susan Pamela Kidder, 69, of Kealakekua, died on Jan. 22, 2023 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Canton, Ohio on March 20, 1953, she was a cashier at the former Kamigaki Market and a member of the Kona Choral Society and assisted at Christ Church Episcopal. Friends may call from 1-3 p.m. on Feb. 25 at Queen Emma Community Center, Christ Church Episcopal in Kealakekua. She is survived by her son, David (Leinee) Kidder of Kailua-Kona; two grandchildren; sisters, Penny Kidder of North Canton, Ohio, Mary (Rick) Lloyd of Massillon, Ohio, Polly (Ren) Patterson of Nt. Vernon, Ohio; sister-in-law, Marty Kidder of Massillon, Ohio; seven nieces and nephews; 17 great nieces and nephews; and 11 cousins. Arrangements by Dodo Mortuary
