Leiko Kiyojima

Leiko Kiyojima, 84, of Hilo, died Dec. 22, 2022, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Kapoho, she was a retired teller with HFS Federal Credit Union. Visitation 2-4 p.m. Feb. 25 at Dodo Mortuary chapel. Funeral service at 4 p.m. Committal service noon Feb. 27 at the Hawaii Veterans Cemetery #2 pavilion, followed by burial. Casual attire; no flowers. She is survived by son, Keith Kiyojima of Hilo; daughter, Cindy Kiyojima of Dublin, Calif.; brother, William Kobayashi of Hilo; sister, Naomi Marumoto of Hilo; brothers-in-law, Thomas Kiyojima of Hilo and Lloyd (Zelda) Kiyojima of Keaau; sisters-in-law, Ellen Kobayashi of Hilo, Chiyono Kinoshita of Honolulu, Sumie Adams of Wisconsin, Amy Shimabukuro of Los Angeles and Lois (Clyde) Silva of Keaau; five grandchildren, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Sheila Akui

Sheila Ann Akui, 74, of Hilo, died Feb. 1, 2023, at home. Born in Canton, Ohio she was a caregiver and member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Visitation 8:30-9:30 a.m. Feb. 24 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Memorial Mass at 9:30 a.m. Casual attire. She is survived by husband, Roderick Akui of Hilo; sons, Robert (Shelden) Ronia of Keaau and Keolamaikeakua (Lola) Akui of Hilo; daughters, Leila (Preston) Antonio of Mountain View, Kimberly (Derek) Saldana of Keaau and Rachel Akui of Puna; sister, Anita (George) Moniz of Palolo; 14 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
