Justin Latta

Justin Rick Latta, 35, of Mountain View, died Jan. 28, 2023, at his residence. Born in Montana, he was a manager and sales representative for AT&T. A celebration of his life will take place from 12 noon Sunday, March 5, 2023, at the Kuhio Kalanianaole Park in Hilo. Casual attire. He is survived by father, Ricky Latta of Kalispell, Montana; mother, Tamela (Bruce) Wilson of Payson, Montana; sisters, Ashley (Neil) Crowther of Ashburn, Virginia, Meghan (Nate) Roetto of Republic, Missouri; paternal grandparents, Duane and Sue Latta of Casivelle, Missouri; hanai mother, Dixie Harper of Wooster, Ohio; hanai brothers, Scott (Chelsea) Hall of Waimea, Cody Woodward of Waimea; hanai sister, Darlene Ellwanger of Mountain View; caregiver, Alvin Aiona of Mountain View; and numerous nieces and nephews. Margaret Cambra

Margaret Cambra, 102, died at Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center on Thursday, February 2, 2023. She was s Sales associate at the early Osorio Store and later at Ahmai &Co.; both in Downtown Hilo. and member of St. Joseph Church and later the Immaculate Heart of Mary in Papaikou. Visitation will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. on Thursday (Mar. 2, 2023) at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Papaikou; Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m.; Committal Service and burial to follow at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery #2 Pavilion. Casual / Aloha attire. Preceded in death by her husband, Edmund Cambra. Survived by, sons, Ronald (Kathy) Cambra of Honolulu, Oahu, Robert (Pamela Judy) Cambra of Canby, Oregon and Rodney (Karen Kanetani) Cambra of Hilo; 7 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Bernice “Bebe” Mendonca; sister-in-law, Jane Mendonca; hanai daughter, Cathy Ferreira; hanai Goddaughter: Shirley Alcosiba; numerous nieces and nephews. Max Shiroma

Max Tatsuo Shiroma, 62, of Mountain View died on Jan. 31 at the Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, he was a concrete plant manager for Yamada &Sons. Private services held. Survived by son, Randy Shiroma of Mountain View, Mitchell Shiroma of Mountain View; father, Takeshi Shiroma of Mountain View; sister, Carolyn (Frank Farrell) Shiroma of Denver, Colorado; numerous nieces and nephews. Dorothea Cordell

Dorothea Barbara (Tenney) Cordell, 91, of Hilo, Hawaii died January 1, 2023 at home. Born on November 8, 1931, she was the youngest member of the country western band “The Tenney Sisters.” A private celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in her name to the Massachusetts Country Music Awards Association.
