Martin Sebastian

“Kuhio” Martin H. Sebastian, III, 64 of Honokaa, passed away at his residence on Nov. 25, 2022; he was a former driver for Circle S Trucking and retired employee of The Hilton Waikoloa Village Resort, where he was a carpenter. Memorial Service will be held on Friday, March 17, 2023 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Honokaa. Alexis Parr

Alexis Parr, 36, of Kailua-Kona died March 4, 2023 at her home. Born in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada on October 20, 1986, she was a chef at Roy’s Waikoloa, Huggo’s, La Bourgogne and Lava Java. She is survived by her daughter, Victoria Lindersmith of Kailua-Kona; mother, Rosemary Taylor of Kailua-Kona; father, Joseph Parr; brother, Craig (Stacey) Taylor, sister, Allison (Scott) Stofer, all of Canada and stepson, Michael Cravens of Texas; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Helene Yamada

Helene Michie Yamada, age 86, of Hilo, Hawaii, died on Jan. 30, 2023 in the Life Care Center of Hilo. She was born in Waialua, Oahu, Hawaii on Jan. 5, 1937 and retired as the Site Manager for the Hawaii County Nutrition Program. She was a member of the Hilo Hooganji Mission and was an avid bowler. Maria “Louisa” Santiago, 93, of Hawi, passed away on Feb. 15, 2023 at North Hawaii Community Hospital. She was born on May 12, 1929 in Kona, Hawaii. She was a housewife, mother and a member of Hawi Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Also a member of the former Kohala Puerto Rican Club. Visitation will be held from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. on Mar. 18, 2023 at Hawi Sacred Heart Catholic Church; Mass at 10 a.m.; burial to follow at Halawa Catholic Cemetery. Lokahi Herrod, Jr

Lokahi Richard Dwayne Herrod, Jr., 60, of Haleʻiwa, died Dec. 27 at the North Hawaii Community Hospital. He was born in Haleʻiwa, and was a Fire Captain on the island of Molokaʻi with the Maui County Fire Dept. Visitation 8-10 a.m. Sunday (March 12) at the Kaunakakai Fire Station, 230 Kakalahale St, Kaunakakai, Molokaʻi. Memorial service at 10 a.m. Lunch to follow at the Mitchell Pauʻole Community Center. Visitation also 2-3:30 p.m. Sunday (March 19) at the North Shore Christian Fellowship Church at Waialua Community Association (Haleʻiwa Gym) 66-434 Kam Hwy, Haleʻiwa, Oʻahu. Memorial service at 3:30 p.m. Casual attire.

He is survived by wife, Cheryl-Ann Gamiao-Herrod of Haleʻiwa; son, Lokahi (Zaira) Herrod of Haleʻiwa; daughters, Kalauipoonalani (Randall) Herrod-Isomura, Aulani Herrod and Ilihia Herrod of Haleʻiwa; hanai daughter, Monica Sanchez of Honolulu; brothers, Jace Noe (Connie) Herrod of Honolulu, Douglas Ehu (Kipp) Herrod and Lanakila (Reina) Kupihea of Haleʻiwa, and Shane Maka (Iwalani) Herrod of Kauaʻi, sister, Charlene Noeau (Charlie) Carr of Fairbanks, Alaska; five grandchildren &numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
