KEAAU — The Kohala High School varsity baseball team defeated Keaau High School 19-2 Saturday afternoon.

The Cowboys entered explosively, running through their batting order and scoring 13 runs in the top of the first inning.

In the bottom of the inning, the Cougars scored a run to remain in the game.

Kohala came back with three more runs in the top second, and Keaau put up another point in the bottom second.

The Cougars finally shut out the Cowboys in the top third, leaving the bases loaded — but were unable to capitalize in the bottom of the inning.

Kohala notched three more runs in the top fourth, and the game was called after Keaau was shut out in the bottom of the frame.

The Cougars will chase a victory Saturday at Konawaena High School.
