Kona Stories presents two book clubs in June

Two book clubs meet monthly at Kona Stories Bookstore. All are welcome to attend. Read the book ahead of time and come prepared for a lively discussion. $5.00 donation is appreciated.

Words and Wine takes place June 6

Words and Wine is where local or traveling authors come to “Talk Story” at Kona Stories Book Store on June 6, 2023 @6PM

This literary favorite continues at Kona Stories book store, located in the Historical Keauhou Shopping Center, as three local or traveling authors talk about their recently published books. Kona Stories will serve light pupu and beverages during this event and everyone is welcome to join – best of all this is a free community event.

Authors speaking in June are: Donna Marie Barr, Kim Dawson Hodson, Dr. Jonathan Dworkin, Georgette Takushi Deemer and Kirk Caldwell.

Hawai’i International Futsal Cup to take place in June

The Hawai’i County Department of Parks &Recreation, in partnership with Hawai’i Futsal and the WeGo Foundation, is pleased to announce the 2023 Hawai’i International Futsal Cup. The event will be held on July 27 – 29, 2023, at the Spencer “Kalani” Schutte District Park in Waimea. The boys’ and girls’ team divisions are 10U, 12U, 14U, and 16U, along with men’s and women’s open divisions. There will be a minimum of four teams and a maximum of six teams per division. The entry fee for non-Hawai’i Island teams is $350 per team. This event is free for spectators. The deadline for team registration is Friday, June 30, 2023.

Hiram Anakalea Named to Graceland University’s Spring 2023 President’s List

The honor roll lists for Graceland University’s 2023 spring term have been announced, and Hiram Anakalea of Kailua Kona, HI, has been named to the President’s List. Graceland University students with a perfect 4.0 grade point average are named to the President’s List. Congratulations, Hiram! Graceland commends you on your academic success.
