Boyington “Barry” Joseph DeCambre Reid Parks, 88, of Mountain View, died on May 3, 2023 at his home. He was born on April 1, 1935 in Kingston, Jamaica. He was a retired electronic technician for the Hawaiian Telephone Company and a U.S. Air Force veteran. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday June 24, 2023 at St. Theresa Catholic Church, Mountain View; a Celebration of Life will follow from 12 to 4 p.m. at the family residence. Casual attire. Survived by, wife of 50 years, Damiana Aloha Avilla-Parks; sons, Leonardo (Norma), Boyington, Jr. (Brenda), Lorenzo (Brandylyn), Reginald (Shanny) and Emanuel (Justyne); daughters, Leonora and Angelina; brother, Ronald Parks; sister, Sharon Parks; 29 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren. Donald Yoshina

Donald Tsuneo Yoshina, 95, of Hilo, died April 9, 2023, at home. Born in Papaaloa, he was retired from the former C. Brewer &Co., a U.S. Army Korean War veteran and member of Waiakea Lions Club and Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin. Private services were held. Family requests no monetary gifts. He is survived by wife, Harriet Yoshina of Hilo; children, Rene Schnider of Accord, NY, Dean (Claudia) Yoshina of Chimacum, WA, Nadine (George) Dochin of Waimea; son-in-law, Glenn Tsutahara of Hilo; sister, Kathleen Saito of Honolulu; five grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Tammy Nagami

Tammy Tamayo Nagami, age 90, of Hilo, Hawaii, died May 5, 2023 in a private care home in Hilo.. She was born in Hilo on June 16, 1932 and was a self-employed Seamstress. Private services were held. Eleanor DeJesus

Eleanor Arafiles DeJesus, 92, of Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, died May 20, 2023 at Life Care Center of Kona. Born in Lahaina, Maui on June 29, 1930, she was a retired sales clerk at KTA Store in Keauhou, and a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church. She is survived by her sons, Bert Bautista and Danilo DeJesus, both of Kailua-Kona. Mass will be held at 10 a.m. June 30, 2023 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Kailua-Kona; inurnment at noon at West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery and lunch to follow at St. Michael’s Catholic Church. Born on May 25, 1931 in Ilocos Sur, Philippines; He was a retired Vegetable Farm Worker at (Kawano Farm) and a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Honokaa. Eunice “Loha” Kuualoha Mulec, 86, of Keaau, died March 28 at home. She was born in Kapoho and was an office clerk with Kamehameha Schools Pre-School and was also a member of the Opihikao Congregational Church. Visitation 8-10 a.m. Saturday June 3 at the Dodo Mortuary chapel. Funeral service at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at the Homelani Memorial Park. Casual attire. Survived by son, Frank J. Norman Santiago

Norman James Santiago, Sr., 72, of Mountain View died April 13 at the Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, he was a truck driver for the former Hamakua Sugar Company, instructor at Abregana Self-Defense Institution and a member of the Red Legion Motorcycle Club. Marcia Heidi Avena, 58, of Mountain View, died June 2, 2022 at the Hilo Medical Center. Austacia “Annie” C. Travens, 90, of Kealakekua, Hawaii died April 30, 2023 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in North Kona on March 29, 1933, she was a store clerk and homemaker. Visitation will be held at 9 a.m. June 17, 2023 at Kona Faith Center in Capt. Cook; funeral service will begin at 10 a.m., burial to follow at Hawi County Cemetery in Hawi.
