Kona brain injury support group meets June 14

The Kona Brain Injury Support Group will be meeting on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at 4 pm HST. Our speaker is Tanya Penny, OTR, Occupational Therapist. The title of Ms. Penny’s presentation is “Learn The Therapeutic Meditation Process™ To Decrease Negative Symptoms &Heal.” The attendee will learn simple &powerful tools that you can use daily to: Improve sleep, have more energy, improve cognition, decrease anxiety &depression, decrease negative body symptoms (pain, numbness, tingling, etc.), decrease blood pressure, and release stress (mind &body). Thelma Parker Memorial Library hosts free beatbox workshop June 15

Bring out the hip hop artist in you at a beatbox workshop with award-winning hip hop musician and educator Mr. Kneel! Thelma Parker Memorial Public Library of the Hawaii State Public Library System (HSPLS) hosts this free workshop for kids of all ages at 11 a.m. on Thurs., June 15. No advance registration required.The engaging and creative Mr. Kneel, aka Neil McIntyre, has performed at more than 500 schools and venues in 43 states and in seven provinces abroad. His events have been described as “family hip hop at its finest.” Thelma Parker Memorial Public and School library, located at 67-1209 Mamalahoa Highway, is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, noon to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday. The library will be closed on Tuesday, June 13, in observance of the Kamehameha Day holiday. For more information, call 808-887-6067.
