A Special Olympics athlete from West Hawaii took home one silver and three bronze medals in powerlifting at the Summer World Games in Berlin, Germany.

Kalei Lee of Waimea was awarded a silver medal in squat and three bronze medals in bench, deadlift and combination three.

The games boast 7,000 Special Olympics athletes and Unified partners from approximately 190 countries competing in 26 sports. The athletes were supported by more than 3,000 coaches and 20,000 volunteers.
