HAWAII ISLAND- Kona Dance and Performing Arts is about to begin their 8th season in Kealakekua as one of the premier performing arts centers on Hawai’i Island. This Saturday August 5th, they are holding a keiki friendly open house from 10am to 4pm offering free classes, performances, crafts, and face painting. This season they will offer an average of 25 classes for ages three to adult in 2 main sessions and fill an average of 182 class slots in each session. Kona Dance’s mission is to provide high quality education and instruction in dance and performing arts to the local youth and the Big Island Community. Their vision is empowering families through dance and performing arts.

Managing Director Ali Drummond says, “This upcoming season is robust and offers something for everyone. We have our 10-month session that spans across the course of the year beginning August 14th and ending May 31st, a monthly program for those who can join us for open level classes or drop-in, and several master classes are aligning with world renowned teaching artists from across the globe. We are proud to continue to support our community through the arts with our high-quality program. At the end of the season, there will be a live performance open to the public held at the Kahilu Theatre which we always look forward to.”
