Perry Shim.amoto

Perry Mutsuo Shimamoto, 66, of Honaunau, H, passed away March 3, 2023 in Clackamas, OR. He was a former employee at Napa Auto Parts Kona and Auto Zone Portland, OR. He is survived by wife Bernadette Shimamoto; children, Rynelle Shimamoto, Corynne (Efren) Mercado, Lance (Jessie) Shimamoto, Patrick Shimamoto,Cherish (Kalolo) Tuihalafatai, and Chelsey Shimamoto; brothers, George (Nobuko) Shimamoto and Robert(Deeann) Shimamoto; sisters, Mae (Len) Daily, Betsy Olores, Rose Watanabe, and Lillian Abe; 12 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. A celebration of life will be held on August 19, 2023 from 12pm-4pm at Yano Hall, 82-6156 Captain Cook, HI 96704. Condolences may be sent to wife Bernadette Shimamoto at 310 Center St., Oregon City, OR 97045. As Perry liked to say, “I’ll see you when I see you.”

Harry Moriwaki

Harry Kiyoshi Moriwaki, 64, of Hilo, died April 18, 2023, at home. Born in Hilo, he was a caregiver and had formerly worked at Big Island Toyota Parts Department. Private services have been arranged. He is survived by brother, Jerry (Judy) Kagimoto of California; sister, Helen Moriwaki Fujii of Kohala; numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and cousins. Basilio Bulosan

Basilio “Mike” Bulosan, 86, of Pahoa, passed away on Monday, July 10, 2023 at residence in Keaau. Born on June 14, 1937, in Pahoa. He retired from the Federal Government as Claims Specialist for the Department of Social Security. He was a US Army Veteran and a Tutor at Pahoa Elementary School. He also was a member of the Pahoa Sacred Heart Church, Lector and Eucharistic Minister. His favorite past-times avid fisherman and photographer; Pekelo Mountain Ball Pitcher; aka as “Mr. B” to his students, UH Manoa Sports Fan and proud father of six girls. Manual Acupan

Manual Acupan, 80, of Keaau, passed away on Monday, June 12, 2023 at Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center in Hilo. Born on December 26, 1942, in the Philippines. He was a farmer in the Philippines and loved making his own vegetable garden. Ronald Hinchcliff

Ronald Lee Hinchcliff, 82, of Ocean View, Hawaii, passed away July16,2023 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Oakland California on Feb.28, 1941 he was a Coast Guard veteran and a well-known local lure maker. He is survived by his wife of 50 years Karen Hinchcliff of Ocean View. And his son Todd Gorla Sr. and 3 grandsons all of Seattle WA. Services have been held. Arrangements by Dodo Mortuary.

Marcus Scott

Marcus Garvey Scott, 54, of Hilo, died on Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at Hilo Medical Center. He was born on April 10, 1969 in Northridge, California. He was an artist and musician. He was also a member of Center for Spiritual Living East Hawaii. Services will be held at a later date.
