AAUW-Kona to host GEMS event at Kahalu’u Manawai in November

AAUW-Kona will host a day of science, math, and technology for 5th-grade girls again this year at their GEMS event on November 14th at Kahalu’u Manawai. Since the pandemic, these events have been smaller and conducted outdoors for safety. Due to size restrictions, registrations will be capped at 130. Interested girls should return their registration forms as soon as possible to be included in this special day of workshops and exhibits highlighting careers in the STEM areas. Forms will be available at all West Hawaii schools on September 7th or by downloading them from the AAUW website. http://aauw-hi.aauw.net

SNHU announces Summer 2023 President’s List

MANCHESTER, NH (09/06/2023)— It is with great pleasure that Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) congratulates the following students on being named to the Summer 2023 President’s List. The summer terms run from May to August.

Shannon Autrey of Kailua Kona, Michael Stone of Hilo, Brittany Phillips of Kailua-Kona, Savannah Buckley of Captain Cook, Rebecca Holt of Kamuela, Joseph Kawamoto of Honokaa, Marcella Palmer of Honaunau, Ryan Fiedler of Kailua Kona, Israel Stillman of Hilo, Kaarina West of Kailua-Kona, and Rosa Marelyn Main of Kailua-Kona.

Full-time undergraduate students who have earned a minimum grade-point average of 3.700 and above for the reporting term are named to the President’s List. Full-time status is achieved by earning 12 credits over each 16-week term or paired 8-week terms grouped in fall, winter/spring, and summer.
