Ignacio Eclipse

Ignacio “Rusty” Eclipse, 89, of Hilo died April 4 at the Hilo Medical Center. Born in Kukaiau, Laupahoehoe, he was a retired tour bus driver for the former Arquero’s U-Drive and Tours, Laupahoehoe Transit, Jacks Tours and a member of the Kilauea Hawaii Pidgin Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Visitation from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Saturday (September 16, 2023) at the Wainaku Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses (445 Kulana St. in Paukaa, Hilo, HI 96720); memorial service at 1. Casual attire. Lanell Oromo

Lanell Kisayo Otomo, 47, of Hilo, died July 21 at home. She was born in Hilo and was a graduate of Waiakea High School and the Devry Institute of Technology in Phoenix, Arizona and formerly worked as an electronic engineer for Boeing in Los Angeles and most recently was a billingcCoder with Clinical Labs in Hilo, and was also a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church. Visitation 9-10:30 a.m. Friday (Sept. 15) at the Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Prayer service at 9 a.m. Burial will follow at 11 a.m. at the Alae Cemetery with lunch to follow at the Papaikou Hongwanji Mission YBA Hall. Casual attire, no flowers, but lei are welcomed. Survived by parents, Gerald and May Otomo of Hilo; brother, Loren (Sharon Davo) Otomo of Pearl City; sisters, Gerilee (Wayne) Sato of Honolulu and Cindy (Preston Chibana) Otomo of Hilo; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and hanai nephews. Johnette Coltes

Johnette Lillian “Joanie” Coltes, 54, of Hilo, died Aug. 14 at the Hilo Medical Center. She was born in Honolulu and was an auto detailer and a member the of Living Waters Assembly of God. Visitation 2-3 p.m. Saturday (Sept. 16) at the Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Funeral services at 3 p.m. Burial will follow at the Alae Cemetery. Casual attire. Survived by mother, Thelma Akeo of Hilo; brothers, Ruben (Noelani) Coltes of Keaau, Anthony Coltes of Mountain View and Michael Coltes of Kohala; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Frances Chartrand-Barco

Hulalanik-ouinoa’ikama- kanianuhea’opuna Frances Chartrand-Barco, 33 of Pahoa – died Aug. 15 at the Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, she was a homemaker. A celebration of her life will begin at 3 p.m. Saturday (October 7, 2023) at the Shoki Trucking Base Yard (16-720 Keaau Rd.). Casual attire. Gloria Thompson

Gloria Leimomi Thompson, 58, of Hilo died Aug. 15 at her home. Born in Hilo, she was the owner of Local Kine Tax Service, an accountant and registered nurse.
