In October the Aloha Theatre will present the Broadway smash hit, The Play That Goes Wrong, by Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer &Henry Shields.

In this hilarious “play within a play” it’s opening night of the Cornley Drama Society’s newest production, The Murder at Haversham Manor, where things are going from bad to embarrassingly worse. This 1920s whodunit has everything you never wanted in a show—an unconscious leading lady, a corpse that can’t play dead, and intrepid actors who can’t remember their lines. The brave thespians battle against falling paintings, unhinged doors, and brokenprops to make it through to their final curtain call, with hilarious consequences! Part Monty Python, part Sherlock Holmes, this Olivier Award–winning comedy is a global phenomenon that’s guaranteed to leave you aching with laughter!

This production is directed by Dave Merrin and T.C. Faith. It features performances from Katrina Zavalney as Annie, Kai Hollinger as Trevor, T.C. Faith as Chris, Mitchell Marks as Jonathan, Stefani Pelletier as Robert, Jason Harbaugh as Dennis, Rocco Arnott as Max, and Amelia Thorne as Sandra. Costume design by Linda Rowand with support from Judy Tringali, set design by Audrey McCandless, set building and special effects by Ben McCandless, sound designed by Jeff Rowand and operated by Scott Forrington, lights designed by Jeff Rowand and operated by Toby McCandless. The Aloha Theatre’s Technical Coordinator, Jamie Hughes, is stage managing this production with backstage support from Anna Lei Leuenberger, Scarlette Burnham, and Leah McCandless.

This production is appropriate for children ages 8+. There is some choreographed stage violence. The show is approximately 2 hours long with one 15 minute intermission. The Play That Goes Wrong will run for 3 weekends from October 6 through October 22. Concessions, including beer and wine, will be available for purchase at the theatre.
