Kaiser Permanente offering updated COVID vaccines

Kaiser Permanente Hawaii is currently offering to members ages 6 months and older the updated COVID-19 vaccine manufactured by Pfizer at most of its clinics across the state, including two on Hawaii Island.

The two Hawaii Island locations are:

Hilo Clinic — 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (closed noon to 1 p.m.), Monday through Friday.

Kona Medical Office — 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (closed noon to 1 p.m.), Monday through Friday.

No appointment is required, but Kaiser is not administering the COVID-19 vaccine to nonmembers.

Vaccine supply may be limited initially, but Kaiser expects to have consistent supply in the coming weeks.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends everyone 6 months and older get an updated vaccine.

The CDC allows COVID-19 vaccination at the same time as the flu vaccine across all age groups eligible for the COVID vaccine. The updated COVID vaccine will be covered according to the coverage of routine vaccinations provided by members’ plan benefits when administered at a Kaiser Permanente facility.
