Kona Palisades artists 10th annual open studio tour to take place this weekend

The Kona Palisades Artists Group will be hosting their 10th Annual open studio tour for two days on Saturday and Sunday, November 18 &19, 2023 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with seven stops.

This year the creative group consists of fifteen Big Island artists living in close proximity to each other in the Kona Palisades Estates and adjacent subdivision. It is a unique opportunity when artists open their studios to the public for touring and artists’ demonstrations of their work process with an opportunity to purchase their artwork created on the Big Island.

The Kona Palisades Artists Group members this year include: Stefanie Culbertson – watercolors and digital design; Amanda and Chris Freed – woodcraft andlaser engraving; Cynthia Hankins – photography; Bill Jaeger – stained glass; Kathleen Jaeger – mosaic, acrylics, paper mache; Tamisha Lee – fused glass; Steven Leto – graphic art and mixed media; Heather Mettler – sandblasted glass vessels; Shannon Nakaya – origami design and sculpture; Victoria Penfield – ceramics and pottery; Maya Sorum – watercolors, jewelry; Bill Twibell – gyotaku (fish printing). Guest artists this year are Emily Boyd – crystal jewelry; Luti Castro – miniture oil paintings.

This is a self-guided driving open studio tour to meet fifteen artists at seven locations with their art displayed in their studio or presentation space.Keep a look out for the signs posted directing you to the seven stops starting from either the top or the bottom of Ka’iminani Drive in the Kona Palisades subdivision. Stop 1 is located on Holoholo Street just south of Ka’iminani Drive. All seven stops will have open studio tour maps. The public will be able to meet the artists and learn about their work process Observe working demonstrations of the artists’ at work, their unique techniques and inspiration.
