Yaeko Setoda

Yaeko Ekimoto Setoda, 95, of Kona, formerly of Hilo, died Nov. 2 at Life Care Center of Kona. Born in Honolulu, she was a retired manager of the Credit Bureau of Hawaii-Hilo and member of Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin, Ikenobo Ikebana Society Honolulu Chapter, Japanese Cultural Center of Hawaii and Panaewa Kumiai. Private services held. No flowers or koden (monetary gifts). Survived by brother, Richard “Kuni” (Florence) Ekimoto Sr. of Kailua, Oahu; brothers-in-law, Raymond (Aileen) Setoda of California and Roy (Dodie) Setoda of Washington; nieces and nephews. Greg Rodenbaugh

Greg “Rudedogg” Rodenbaugh, 64, of Pahoa, died Nov. 22 at home. He was the owner/operator of Rudedogg Tattoos in Pahoa for several years. Michael Asada

Michael Y. Asada, 76, of Captain Cook, Hawaii, died November 5, 2023 in Renton, Washington. Born June 7, 1947, in Pu’unene, Maui, he retired from Hawaii Electric Company in customer service. Celebration of life services will be held at Daifukuji Soto Mission in Honalo on December 29, 2023. Visitation at 3 p.m. followed by 4 p.m. service. Family requests casual attire worn and no flowers. Frances Tanaka

Frances Nobuko Tanaka, 91, of Hilo, died Nov. 24, 2023, at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born in Ola’a, she was the retired owner of the former Mizoguchi Lunch Shop. Private services held. Ruby Matsumoto

Ruby Yoshie Nakashima Matsumoto, 91, of Kalaheo, Kauai and formerly of Hilo died Oct. 6 in Lihue, Kauai. Born in Honolulu, she was a retired library technician at the University of Hawaii-Hilo and a member of the Puna Hongwanji Mission. Private services held.
