Sylvia Braun

Sylvia Joyce Ingram Braun, 79, of Laupahoehoe, formerly of Bethlehem, Conn., died Nov. 26 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Fitchburg, Mass., she graduated from Fitchburg High School in 1962, received a bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, was a second grade teacher and office administrator, and later volunteered at her church in Torrington, Conn. Celebrations of life at a later date in Hawaii and the mainland. Survived by husband, Jim Braun of Laupahoehoe; daughter, Charlotte (Frank) Musonda of Ellicott City, Md.; brother, David (Jennifer) Ingram of Florida; sister, Alma (Edwin) Hubbell of Tennessee and Cape Cod, Mass.; three grandchildren; nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Wraynetta Naleimaile

Wraynetta Adelaide Keomailani Naleimaile, 79, of Hilo died Nov. 16 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Honolulu, she was a retired teller with Territorial Savings Bank on Oahu. Visitation 4-6 p.m. Wednesday (Dec. 27) at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Memorial services at 6 p.m. Committal services on Oahu at a later date TBA. Casual attire; no flowers. Survived by son, Sean (Kathy) Naleimaile of Hilo; six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Arrangements by Dodo Mortuary.

Elma Domingo

Elma Abadilla Domingo, 66, of Hawi, died on November 12, 2023 at home. She was born on August 4, 1957 in Dingras, Ilocos Norte, Philippines. She was a former housekeeper at Mauna Lani Hotel. Visitation will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. on Saturday (Dec. 23, 2023) at Dodo Mortuary Chapel, Hilo; Funeral Service at 10 a.m. Additional service and final burial in the Philippines. Please wear black and refrain from wearing white or bright colors. Survived by, step-mother, Amelia Abadilla of the Philippines; brother, Levy (Adelina) Abadilla of the Philippines; sisters, Nelie Aguiran of Kapaau, Hermelita (Irvin) Kabei of Kailua-Kona and Lorna (Roman) Gatica of Colorado Springs, Colorado; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Helen Cooper

Helen Mae Cooper, 97, of Keaau, died Dec. 1, 2023, at home. Born in Mineola, N.Y., she was a retired engineer for Hughes Aircraft Company, U.S. Air Force veteran, tai chi instructor for seniors. Services pending. Survived by nieces and nephew, Laura Cooper and Frances Scarpinato of Keaau, James Huntley of Orchidland, Susan Addis of Missouri, Julia (Jeremy) Newby Ramey of Neodesha, Kan., Barbara J. Gary Delos Santos

Gary Lee Delos Santos, Sr., 76, of Naalehu, died on November 27, 2023 at Hilo Medical Center. He was born on August 22, 1947 in Ka’u. He was a retired custodian for Naalehu Elementary School and U.S. Army Vietnam veteran. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Survived by, sons, Gary “Gary Boy” (Christine Haalilio) Delos Santos, Jr. and Michael “Mikey” (Kalei Martinez) Delos Santos; hanai daughters, Bobbi-Jo (Jurgen) Meier, Roilynn (Jacob) Kamp, Chrisandra (Jamie) Javar, Meiling (Lyle) Matthews and Zara (Sam) Akeo; hanai son, Jonathan (Desiree Galanto) James; sisters, Pearl “Nani” Mokuhali’i and Brenda (Ren) Walker; 9 grandchildren; 1 great-grandson; numerous hanai grandchildren, hanai great-grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
