Catalina “Marcy” Cabasa, 85, of Hilo died Jan. 23, at Straub Medical Center in Honolulu. Born in the Philippines, she was a social worker for the state and devout member of The Church of God in Hilo. Visitation 9-10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 7, at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Committal service noon at East Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2 Pavilion. Burial to follow. Survived by daughter, Joy (Van) Reyes of Hilo; sons, Joe (Michelle) Cabasa of Keaau and Chris (Brandy) Cabasa of Aiea, Oahu; hanai daughter, Sandra Cordeiro of Kalapana; sister-in-law, Josephina Cabanas of Kailua-Kona; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
