Jerome “Tabu” Chad Allen Kahoalii Heath, 49, of Kailua-Kona died Feb. 25 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Hilo, he was a construction contractor and member of Shut-D and All Nutz softball teams. Services 4-8 p.m. Friday, April 26, at Old Kona Airport Pavilion. Survived by children, Jeramy Jitchaku, Malu Tanigawa, Jerome Kahoalii, Justice “TJ” Kahoalii-Heath, Jayden Fujino-Heath and Jaylee Fujino-Heath; siblings, John Nobriga, Jerod (Shaney) Kahoalii, Jason “Fluff” (Bethany) Antonio, Jr (Tanya) Villanueva, Braddah (Shawn) Kahoalii, Joann Ford, Alani (Kala) Kahoalii, John Boy (Darlynn) Kahoalii, Johnathan “Fatman” Kahoalii and Chris Medeiros; nieces, nephews and cousins. Corinne Yaeko Yamaki

Gwendolynmae Keonaona Kamanu

Gwendolynmae Keonaona Kamanu, 70, of Kalapana died March 3 at home. She was born in Honolulu and was a bus driver for the former Bragado Bus Service and worked for the former Kalapana Drive Inn. Memorial services at a later date. Survived by brothers, Edward K. (Mary) Kamanu of Kalapana and Stanley A. Kris Itsuo Kaneko

Kris Itsuo Kaneko, 65, of Holualoa died March 2 at Hospice of Kona’s Nakamaru Hale. Born in Lansing, Mich., he was a medical sales representative and 1976 graduate of Mid-Pacific Institute in Honolulu. Celebration of life 11 a.m. celebration of life Saturday, May 4, at the Kona Imin Center in Holualoa. Casual attire. Survived by sisters, Julie Kaneko Hall of Honolulu and Tricia (Pete) Strahler of Castle Rock, Colo.; five nieces and nephews. Arrangements by Dodo Mortuary.

Clara Uechi

Clara Uechi, 94, of Captain Cook died March 9 at Captain Cook Care Home. Born in Honaunau, she was a retired public schools cafeteria manager, working at Hookena and Napoopoo schools on Hawaii Island, Holomua School on Molokai and Pearl Harbor Intermediate School on Oahu, and a Konawaena High School Class of 1947 alumna who loved to sing, play tennis and bowl in several leagues, and member and choir director of Kona Hongwanji Buddhist Temple. Memorial service and celebration of life 2 p.m. Sunday, June 9 at Kona Hongwanji Buddhist Temple in Kealakekua. Survived by children, Barbara (Steve McGee) Uechi of Kona, Melvin (Sharon) Uechi of Las Vegas, Lester (Gill Eklof) Uechi of San Francisco and Jason (Heidi) Uechi of Montclair, N.J.; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law. Hattie Piliole Whitney, 92, of Hilo died Jan 14. Born in Hilo, she was a retired hotel housekeeper and member of the hotel workers’ union. Private family services held March 15.
