Jose “Joe” Cabison Sr., 81, of Hilo and formerly of Papaikou, died March 23 at home. Born in Mokuleia, Waialua, Oahu, he was a retired construction worker, Marine Corps veteran and member of Laborers International Union of North America, Local 368.
Friends may call at 9 a.m. April 13 at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Papaikou for an 11 a.m. Mass. Burial follows at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Family requests casual attire be worn and no flowers.
He is survived by sons, Jose Cabison Jr. and Russell Cabison, both of Hilo, Lance (Emma) Cabison, of Las Vegas; brothers, Santos Cabison Sr. and Ramon (Julie) Cabison Sr., both of Hilo; sisters, Lorrain (Pete) Rivera and Rose (Rudy) Costales, both of Waipahu, Oahu; a granddaughter; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

William Caravalho
William “Billy” Caravalho, 82, of Kapaau, died March 23 at Kohala Hospital. Born May 15, 1929, in Kohala, he was an equipment operator for the state Highways Division, retired National Guardsman and member of Kohala Puerto Rican and Kohala Senior Citizen clubs.
Friends may call at 8 a.m. April 14 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hawi for a 10 a.m. Mass. Burial follows in the church cemetery. Family requests casual attire be worn. Flowers are welcome.

Emmanuel “Manny” Dela Cruz, 8, of Waimea, died March 23 at North Hawaii Community Hospital. Born in Kealakekua, he was a student at Waimea Elementary School.

Born in Germany, she was aU.S. Women’s Army Air Corps veteran of World War II and member of Christ Lutheran Church, National Association of Retired Federal Employees, Lutheran Women’s Missionary League and U.S. Air Force Sergeant’s Association.

Arnold Howard
Arnold LeRoy Howard, 87, of Punaluu, Ka‘u died March 16 at Ka‘u Hospital. Born in Kaneohe, Oahu, he was an auto mechanic at the Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard, retired as a fire truck mechanic at the U.S. Marine Corp Air Base in Kaneohe, Oahu, was a former deputy warden for the Fish and Game Commission, a game hunter, fisherman, member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and Navy veteran.
Friends may call at 1 p.m. April 15 at the Hokuloa Chapel above Punaluu Beach Park pavilions for a service. Sturdy walking shoes are recommended.
