February 13, 1941 – May 18, 2013

Earle Jack Dye Jr., 72, of Waimea died May 18, 2013. Born Feb. 13, 1941, in Honolulu, he was retired from the Honolulu Police Force, worked as a security director for the former Hyatt hotel in Waikoloa, director of security at the Mauna Kea Beach Resort, a rancher and member of Imiola Congregational Church, Makule League and SHOPO.

Friends may call at 10 a.m. June 1 at Imiola Congregational Church for and 11 a.m. celebration of his life. Private scattering of ashes follows. Friends may also call at 10 a.m. June 29 at the Kamehameha School Chapel on Oahu for services.

He is survived by wife, Gwen Dye of Waimea; sons, Earle (Rogelie) Dye III of Las Vegas, Kaipo (Selena) Dye of Kurtistown, Beau (Nikki) Dye of Waimea; daughter, Andrea (Dorian) Dye-Tupe of Waimea; brother, Kenneth (Candace) Dye of Waimea; sister, Carol (Frank) Valant of Oahu; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
