Hawaii Island remains under a tropical storm warning this morning.

Tropical Storm Flossie’s path shifted slightly overnight, National Weather Service officials said. The storm was 140 miles east northeast of Kailua-Kona as of 8 a.m. and 80 miles northeast of Hilo.

Officials reported the storm had sustained wind speeds of 45 mph and predicted it would bring heavy rains, high surf and flash flooding across the state.
