John Texeira
John Texeira, 92, of Keaau died July 22, 2013, at Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home. Born on May 13, 1921, in Keaau, he was a retired dispensary bus operator and truck driver for the former Puna Sugar Company and a U.S. Army World War II veteran. He was also a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Keaau.
Friends may call 10 to 10:30 a.m. Aug. 1 for visitation at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hilo, with a funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. and burial to follow at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. The family requests casual attire.
He is survived by daughter, Sharon Chong of Hilo; sons, Michael J. (Anna) Texeira of Hilo and Alan E. Texeira of Honolulu; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Martin Angot
Martin Angot, 71, of Paauilo died July 12, 2013, in Honokaa. Born Dec. 16, 1941, in Hakalau, he was a heavy equipment operator for the former Hamakua Sugar Company, a former steward for the Hilton Waikoloa Village and a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran. He was also a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Honokaa and the Paauilo Senior Club.
Friends may call 8:30 to 10 a.m. Aug. 2 for visitation at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Honokaa, with a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. and burial to follow at Kukaiau County Cemetery. The family requests casual attire.
He is survived by, sister-in-law, Irene Angot of Paauilo; hanai grandnephews, Billy Tagabi of Washington and Sean Tagabi of Paauilo; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Margaret Kahawai
Margaret “Pumpkin” Hilda (Derasin) Kahawai, 51, of Naalehu died June 19, 2013, at Liliha Health Care Center on Oahu. Born in Honolulu, she was a former pantry chef at the Hilo Hawaiian Hotel and the former Hilo Lagoon Hotel and also a cook at the former B & E 76 in Naalehu.
Friends may call at 5 p.m. Aug. 2 at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo for a 6 p.m. service. Friends may again call at 9 a.m. Aug. 3 at Kauahaao Congregational Church in Waiohinu for a 10 a.m. service. The family requests casual attire.
She is survived by parents, Bill and Ella Derasin, of Naalehu; daughters, Shawnette (Joe) Esperanza, of Naalehu, Chalyssa Marie Kahawai of Louisiana, Breeann Ebanez of Pahala, Cheyenne (Sean) Leffew and Brandy Ebanez, both of Mililani, Oahu; son, Almarich (Amy) Ebanez of Washington; brother, Michael (Faith) Derasin of Waimea; sisters, Elizabeth Derasin of Ocean View, Sharlene (Kalani) Decoito of Waiohinu; nine grandchildren.

Doris Michiko En Oi Guerrero, 83, of Hilo died July 15, 2013, at The Queen’s Medical Center on Oahu. Born Jan. 8, 1930, in Hilo, she was a retired licensed practical nurse for the former Hilo Hospital and a member of the United Community Church.

Artemio Naboa
Artemio Nivera Naboa, 70, of Naalehu died July 5, 2013, at The Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu. Born in Agno, Pangasinan in the Philippines, he was a sugar cane truck driver for Ka‘u Agribusiness, a member of the Naalehu Filipino Club and Naalehu Sacred Heart Church.
Friends may call 5 to 6 p.m. Aug. 2 for visitation at Naalehu Sacred Heart Church, followed by a 6 p.m. wake service. Friends may call again 8 to 10 a.m. Aug. 3 at Naalehu Sacred Heart Church, followed by a 10 a.m. Mass at 10 a.m. The family requests casual attire. Burial will be at the Naalehu Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Naboa of Naalehu; children, Lynn (Leonard) Fuerte of Mountain View, Nelson (Belle Castillo) Naboa of San Diego, Tessie (Lincoln) Kailiawa of Pahala, Ze Naboa of Las Vegas and Eldridge Naboa of Naalehu; brothers, Herman (Lisa) Naboa of Naalehu, Wilson (Cecilia) Naboa of Aiea, Oahu, and Leopoldo (Letecia) of the Philippines; hanai daughter, Brianne Moreno of Wahiawa, Oahu; hanai son, James “Brada” Dacalio IV of Waimanalo, Oahu; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; numerous family members and friends.

Jiro Tanaka
Jiro Tanaka, 92, of Waimea died June 16, 2013, in Hilo. Born in Honohina, he was a retired electrical contractor and owner of the former Tanaka Electric. He was also a member of the Kamuela Hongwanji Mission and was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II.
Private family services were held.
He is survived by sisters, Miyoko (Richard) Tanaka of Los Angeles, Calif. and Mitsue Tanaka of Honolulu; several nieces and nephews.
