Art, music festival slated Saturday
The Blue Sea Artisans Gallery in collaboration with the Kona International Market present the fourth annual Spring Art and Music Festival from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. The community is invited to an event for the whole family, featuring artists, crafters and food booths and prizes. Live entertainment is scheduled all day with area musicians and dance groups on the main stage:
• 10 to 10:45 a.m., music by Hui Mauka/Makai
• 11 to 11:45 a.m., hula by Halau Makanani
• noon to 12:45 p.m., ukulele group performance
• 1 to 1:45 p.m., The Dancing Tree performance
• 2 to 2:45 p.m., The Lucky Lizard performs
• 3 to 3:45 p.m., Darlyette Meyer on acoustic guitar.

Kona Music Society offers afternoon of love songs in April
Kona Music Society will hold “Love Songs for a Spring Afternoon,” a fundraising concert by soprano Amy Mills, tenor Bernardo Evangelista, pianist Alex Walter and accompanist Gloria Juan.
The event will be held at 3 p.m. April 6 at a private residence in Makalei Estates. A silent auction will be held and pupu and wine will be available.

SKEA planning Spring Art Camp
The Society for Kona’s Education and Art’s Spring Art Camp will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 17 through 21. Enrollment is open for children ages 6 to 11. The theme, “The Olden Days,” will engage students in various art projects with area artists and crafters, as well as outdoor activities and a field trip. The cost is $125 per week and a $35 family membership, with an early bird special registration by Monday and scholarships available.
SKEA is located in Honaunau on Mamalahoa Highway between mile markers 105 and 106. This program is supported by funding through the Hawaii State Foundation on Culture and the Arts, appropriations from the state Legislature, the National Endowment for the Arts, The Kukio Community Foundation and the Bill Healy Foundation.
