Worship concert set for Saturday at Mokuaikaua Church

Kona Festivale Chorale offers its annual “SingSpiration” concert free of charge at 7 p.m. Saturday at Mokuaikaua Church.

This year’s worship and praise gathering is titled “Sing to the Lord a new Song” based upon Psalm 149, verse 1. “SingSpiration” is the final concert in the chorale’s four-event concert series for 2013-2014.

Anchoring the event will be the Kona Festivale Chorale and the Celebration singers under the direction of Carson Wilcox and Roberta King. Guest speakers will include pastor and evangelist David Rees-Thomas, pastor David De Carvalho of Mokuaikaua Church, Darlene Cunningham of Youth With A Mission, and the dramatic readings of Jackson Ndecheck with University of the Nations.

Additional performances include Keaka Perry of the creative arts worship team Hoomana Hana Noeau of Mokuaikaua Church, Jo-Anna Boshard and Kalehua Meheula, Chauncey Wong Yuen, the Salvation Army Boys Choir, Roxanne Olson and Red Johnson.

A spectrum of traditional and contemporary Christian music will be performed. Included among them; “Rise Up, O Men of God,” “Great Day,” “Highest Place,” “He Reigns,” “Okwagala Kwe,” “Alleluia, Alleluia,” “Holy,” “Father, I Adore You,” “Alone, Yet Not Alone,” “Get All Excited,” “God Took Away My Yesterdays,” “He Will Carry You,” “Surely the Presence” and “I’ll Fly Away.”

The concert is free. Donations will be requested. Attendees should park in the parking areas immediately behind Mokuaikaua Church. For more information, call 331-1115.
