HONOLULU — Two men are in custody as Honolulu police investigate a fatal stabbing Sunday morning.

Police have not released the name of the 30-year-old man who died in Makiki northeast of downtown Honolulu and the Honolulu Medical Examiner has not positively identified him.

The Honolulu Star-Advertiser reports the men in custody are an 18-year-old from Palolo and a 26-year-old from Kauai.

Witnesses say the man who died was the aggressor and may have been threatening his girlfriend when the younger men intervened.

Police found the stabbing victim unresponsive. He was rushed by ambulance to a hospital and died there.
