The Hawaii County Department of Water Supply has issued an emergency water restriction notice for the Puna and Hamakua districts.
With ongoing Hawaii Electric Light Co. power transmission challenges, the department reports low water tank levels in the Puna and Hamakua Districts including, Kaiwiki.
Until further notice, water supply customers located in Puna and Hamakua are advised to restrict water use to essential needs only.
