Ala Hele Ike Hawaii trail, also known as the Mauka-makai trail, at Kaloko-Honokohau National Historical Park will remain closed through next week.

The park service said the extended closure, which runs through Aug. 22, is required because of the arrival of Hurricane Iselle last week. The trail will reopen for visitor use on the weekends, the park said.
