Water will temporarily be shut off along both sides of Mamalahoa Highway from Waiono Meadows to Waiaha Farms in North Kona from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, according to the Hawaii County Department of Water Supply.
Workers will install a new water line connection for the Waiaha Water System South. Water lines will be flushed and cleaned immediately afterward and users may notice turbid and discolored water.
The DWS is asking homeowners to protect their property and facilities by disabling electrical power to pumps which depend on water pressure or supply for normal operation.
