The royal grounds, puuhonua (refuge quarters) and picnic area at Puuhonua o Honaunau National Historical Park are open Tuesday, park officials said.

However, the shoreline remains closed because of high surf.

Park officials ask the public to be aware of the possibility of temporary closures Wednesday because of the high surf.
