HAGATNA, Guam — A 51-year-old Guam man says he survived an attack by a deer outside his Toto home.

Guam newspaper Pacific Daily News reports Mike Cepeda was bandaged up when he visited the Guam Police Department in Hagatna to file a report about the Friday attack.

Cepeda says he went outside his home after his aunt called him about a deer in the yard. Cepeda says he was watching the deer, which had antlers, approach him when the animal went into attack mode.

Cepeda says the deer jabbed at his chest, threw him down and slammed him on the ground. Cepeda says he thought he was going to die.

According to Cepeda, a cousin rushed to the kitchen to get a knife and stabbed the deer, which ran off.
