The Kailua Village Artists invites the public to its featured artist reception for three member artists on July 10 at the gallery located off Alii Drive in Kailua-Kona.

The three featured artists are oil painters Christal Nylin and Marilyn Koschella and chain maille jewelry artist Leslie Munger. The event will run from 5 to 7 p.m. Light pupu will be served.

Nylin, a long-time Kona resident, paints in oils, capturing the beautiful sites of the Big Island . She is known for her coffee paintings. Nylin’s featured oil painting is “Kukio Bay.” She is also KVA’s July featured artist.

Koschella paints seascapes along the Kona Coast in oils. She has been involved in the Kona art community since moving here after retiring in 2008. Koschella’s featured painting is “View of Keauhou Bay.”

Munger creates chain maille jewelry, an ancient craft that started as armor in Europe in the 13th century, and then evolved into jewelry form in the 17th century. Her featured artwork is “2 Bracelets.”

The Kailua Village Artists Gallery is located at 75-5729 Alii Drive, Suite C-110 in the Kona Marketplace off of Alii Drive. The gallery is open 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
