Burglary

A man reported to police that a neighbor had seen an unknown woman in his home on Oct. 14 on the 77-0200 block of Maliko Street. Multiple items were removed from the home, but were found in his vehicle parked in the garage.

A vacation rental had about $6,262 in currency, electronics and more materials stolen between 10:30 a.m. and 4:25 p.m. Oct. 16 at 77-6500 Princess Keelikolani Drive. The property was entered by removing glass louvers. Taken were bags, purses, a Galaxy S3 phone, a watch, a Tiffany and Co. ring and jewelry, sunglasses, red JBL headphones, perfume, women’s clothing and about 1,000 euros.

The Whaler’s General Store was burglarized on the night of Oct. 17 by entering through the south side door. The suspect stole alcohol mini bottles and tobacco products. Darek Hanato, 22, no permanent address, was arrested and charged that day in relation to the incident. He was recognized from survelliance video and arrested at the Kailua Pier.

A small black camera and two cabinent keys were stolen from an office between midnight and 8 a.m. Oct. 18 on the 75-5700 block of Kuakini Highway. The person somehow entered and exited the office without damaging either door.

A man’s iPad Air and two packs of cigarettes were stolen on Oct. 19 from a home on the 76-6100 block of Alii Drive. The home was entered by cutting a screen in the kitchen door area.

Stolen vehicle

A man with IRONMAN reported a UHaul box truck was stolen from the group’s office on the 74-5500 block of Alapa Street on Oct. 13.

A woman attempted to drive off with a vehicle before the owner’s mother stopped her on Oct. 15 in the 84-4800 block of Ke Ala O Keawe Road. The vehicle was parked in the driveway and the unknown woman backed up about 30 feet before the mother opened the door and told her to get out. Neither the mother or daughter knew the driver.

A white 2003 Dodge Ram was stolen from a business between 5 p.m. Oct. 13 and 7:30 Oct. 16 while it was parked in a lot at 74-5500 Luhia St. The truck has a license plate of 214 HDC.

A stolen vehicle was recovered after it was involved in an accident. The owner reported it was taken on Oct. 18 from the driveway of a home on the 86-3600 block of Hawaii Belt Road. The car was involved in an accident at 10:02 p.m. Oct. 17 near the home and the driver fled on foot. It was recovered by police after it was reported stolen.
