Lorraine Wood

Lorraine Violet Wood, 79, of Lansing, Mich., died Dec. 27, 2011, at Ingham Medical Hospital in Lansing, Mich. Born Dec. 13, 1932, in Hilo, she was an Army veteran, worked as a nurse’s aide at St. Lawrence Hospital, was a store secretary for Meijers Thrifty Acres and office assistant at De Lima’s Plumbing.

Friends may call at 2 p.m. Nov. 5 at Homelani Memorial Park, Section 7, for graveside committal service. Family requests aloha attire be worn.

She is survived by sons, Eldon Wood Jr. of Lansing, Mich., Ronald Wood of Williamson, Mich., Ricky (Jennifer) Wood and Andrew Wood, both of Mesa, Ariz., Steven (Teresa) Wood of East Lansing, Mich.; daughters, Lehua (Oliver) Beamon of Bath, Mich., Leilani Wood Fogg of Tempe, Ariz.; brother, Walter (Veronica) Armaral of Los Angeles; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Nan Tome

Nan Toshiko Tome, 57, of Hilo, died Oct. 8, 2015, at her home. Born Nov. 19, 1957, in Honolulu, she was retired from the Hawaii State Department of Human Services Med-Quest Division and was a member of Ahualani Kumiai and Hawaii Government Employees Association.

Friends may call at 3:30 p.m. Nov. 6 at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo for a 5 p.m. service. Friends may also call at 3 p.m. Nov. 15 at Hosoi Garden Mortuary in Honolulu for a 4 p.m. service. Family requests casual attire be worn.

She is survived by husband, Leslie Tome of Hilo; daughter, Lindsey Tome of Hilo; mother, Annette Takahashi of Honolulu; brother, Tod Takahashi of Honolulu; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and in-laws.

Edward Paulos

Edward Darrell Paulos, 57, of Hilo died Oct. 10, 2015, at Hilo Medical Center. Born Aug. 9, 1958, in Hilo, he worked for A &B Hardware and was a truck driver for Hilo Coast Processing Co., Alan Meyers Trucking, P &P Trucking, C &F Trucking, Pacific Coast Trucking, Yamada Enterprises and Hamakua Sugar Co. He was the sole proprietor for Ed’s Hauling and Rental and was a member of Hawaii Classic Cruisers.

Friends may call at 5 p.m. Nov. 7 at Dodo Mortuary chapel for a 6 p.m. service. Family requests casual attire be worn and no flowers.

He is survived by companion, Lena Simeona of Hilo; son, Edward Darrell Paulos Jr. of Hilo; sisters, Sharon (Glenn) Aoki and Doreen Kaneko, both of Hilo; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

Chiyoko Takahashi

Chiyoko Takahashi, 95, of Papaikou died Oct. 10, 2015, at the Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center in Hilo. Born in Kalaoa Mauka, she was a homemaker.

Friends may call at 9 a.m. Nov. 7 at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo for a 10 a.m. service. Casual attire is requested.

She is survived by daughters, Taeko Takahashi of Hawaiian Paradise Park, Gladys (Wayne) Umemoto, Ellen (Thomas) Tanoura, both of Honolulu; son, George (Sung Cha) Takahashi of Lynn Haven, Fla.; brothers, Kenneth Mihara of Hilo, Takaichi Mihara of Seattle, Yoshio Mihara of Wainaku; sisters, Eiko Kishii, Sumie (Teruyuki) Yoshida, both of Hilo, Tsuneno (Sidney) Suenishi of Selah, Wash.; 12 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren.

Stephen Spencer

Stephen “Kaipo” Andrew Spencer, 59, of Waimea died Oct. 12, 2015, at North Hawaii Community Hospital. Born in Honokaa, he worked for the Parker Ranch Broiler, Cattlemen’s Steakhouse, Sheraton Resorts, The Royal Waikoloan, Outrigger Hotels and Resorts Waikoloa Beach Mariott Resort where he retired as a senior concierge. He was also a member of the St. James Episcopal Church and a past member of the Waimea Hawaiian Civic Club, Hale O Na Alii—Waimea Chapter, Office of Hawaiian Affairs, Kauinoa and Kanaioluwalu.

Friends may call at 9 a.m. Nov. 7 at St. James Episcopal Church in Waimea for an 11 a.m. service, followed by urn committal in the church cemetery. Family requests casual attire be worn. Flowers and lei are welcome.

He is survived by brothers, Walter Spencer Jr. of Waimea, Todd Spencer of Hilo, Glenn Newcomb of Salem, Ore.; sisters, Vera (Kalei) Bowman of Las Vegas, Shirley Spencer of Hilo, and Barbara (Tony) Spencer Apolo of Kona; numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and nephews.
