“The Enduring Wiliwili” will be exhibited at the Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel through February.

The exhibit features the works of Pacific Island Printmakers John McCaskill, Margaret Barnaby, Andrea Pro, Lisa Louise Adams and Kathy Molina. An artists’ reception will be held today from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Coast Grill at the hotel. A portion of the proceeds from art sales will benefit the Waikoloa Dry Forest Initiative, a nonprofit dedicated to reforesting a lowland dry forest preserve near Waikoloa Village.

For the exhibition, the Pacific Island Printmakers partnered with the Waikoloa Dry Forest Initiative. The preserve is home to several endemic and indigenous plant species including iconic trees such as the wiliwili and the uhiuhi. The initiative is working to bring the dryland forest of Waikoloa back to life through natural resource conservation, restoration and community education and participation.
