Police arrested 15 motorists on charges of driving under the influence of an intoxicant between Nov. 29 and Sunday.

Four of those drivers were involved in crashes and two were younger than 21.

So far this year, there have been 1,007 DUI arrests compared with 1,078 during the same period last year, a decrease of 6.6 percent.

There have been 1,425 major accidents so far this year compared with 1,451 during the same period last year, a decrease of 1.8 percent.

So far this year, there were 17 traffic fatalities compared with 11 during the same period last year, an increase of 54.5 percent.

Of those fatalities, six were related to drugs and five to a combination of drugs and alcohol.

DUI roadblocks and patrols continue islandwide.
