Hitoshi Sakoda

Hitoshi Sakoda, 82, of Hilo died June 17, 2016, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Pepeekeo, he was retired from Hawaiian Telephone Co., an Army veteran and member of Hilo Hooganji Mission, Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin, and Hilo Daijingu.

Friends may call at 4 p.m. June 29 at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo for a 5 p.m. service. Family requests casual attire be worn and no flowers.

He is survived by wife, Shirley Sakoda of Hilo; daughters, Lori (Curt) Tanaka of Hilo, Gail (Sean) Fox of Honolulu, Sandra (Joseph) Aguiar of Kurtistown; sister, Hatsumi (Hiromasa) Kondo of Hilo; seven grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

Michele Tsuneda

Michele Etsuko Fujii Tsuneda, 63, of Hilo died June 15, 2016, at the Hilo Medical Center. Born July 15, 1952, in Hakalau, she was a speech pathologist, educational assistant and tutor, servicing various schools on Hawaii Island. Earlier in her career she was an audiometric assistant with the State of Hawaii Department of Health and clerk with Hilo Coast Processing Co.

Friends may call at 10 a.m. June 30 at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo for am 11 a.m. service. Casual attire is requested.

She is survived by husband, Randolph Tsuneda of Hilo; daughters, Kelli Tsuneda, Kaci Tsuneda, both of Hilo; brothers, Harold (Christina) Fujii, Gary (Francine) Fujii, both of Hilo; sisters, Elayne (Zachary) Higa, Sharon (Arnold) Uehara, both of Hilo; numerous uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Harold Izumi

Harold Kazuo Izumi, 66, of Kailua-Kona died May 12, 2016, at Kona Community Hospital. Born July 1, 1949, in Kealakekua, he was an Army veteran and a courtesy clerk at KTA grocery store.

He is survived by brothers, Alvin (Alma) Izumi, Kelan (Edna) Izumi; sister, Doreen Regohos, all of Kailua-Kona.

Gloria Nattkemper

Gloria (Cocotas) Nattkemper, 79, died June 10, 2016, in Honokaa.

Born in Lynn, Mass. she had a career in retailing and retail management at Burrows and Sanborn in Lynn, followed by C. Crawford Hollidge in Boston, then I. Magnin and Abercrombie and Fitch in San Francisco. She later became shop manager and buyer for Mauna Kea Beach Hotel.

No services are planned. Contributions in her memory may be made to Boys Town.

She is survived by brothers, Ronald Cocotas of Bourne, Mass., Peter Cocotas of San Jose, Calif.; one nephew,

Mariano Rabara

Mariano Ragasa Rabara, 77, of Keaau died May 26, 2016, at the Hospice of Hilo Pohai Malama Facility. Born in Bulala, Vigan City, Ilocos Sur, the Philippines, he was a landscaper.

Services and burial will be held in the Philippines.

He is survived by wife, Cornelia Aludino Rabara of Keaau; sons, Ricardo (Marisel Shameral) Rabara of Vigan City, Philippines, Isagani Rabara of Keaau; daughters, Cristina (Ernesto) Tadeo of Pahoa, Marilyn (William) Reotita of Vigan City, Philippines; brothers, Pedro (Leticia) Rabara, Cecilio Rabara, both of Vigan City, Philippines; sisters, Juliana Aludino, Asuncion Agati, both of Vigan City, Philippines; eight grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Michio Odachi

Michio Odachi, 77, of Pinole, Calif. died March 28, 2016, at Granada Care Home in Pinole, Calif. Born July 26, 1938, in Hilo, he was an Army veteran, worked as a data processor at Cutter Laboratory and at the University of California, San Francisco Medical Center.

Private inurnment services held at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2 in Hilo. No flowers, no monetary offerings.

He is survived by sisters, Masako Ebisuzaki of Pinole, Calif., June (Sus) Shigemasa of Hilo; nine nephews and nieces; 10 grandnephews; grandnieces; two great-grandnephews; one great-grandniece.
